Ever since I got my own laptop at home surfing the web has become one of my favorite ways to pass time. I first started my computer use just as any other kid would, playing video games. I could spend hours online playing any little game that could entertain me for the time being. As I got older my internet use continued to mature with me. I still like playing video games but my main use of the internet soon evolved. This is when I discovered the power of google. I would google anything I was curious about, anything from the latest soccer scores and news to questions about my math homework. I loved how I could find out the answer to virtually any question I had just by typing it in the search bar. From this I began to grow my love for technology. I would spend countless hours on the internet surfing for the latest gadgets coming out and reading reviews on the hottest electronics on the market. I become so enthralled with technology that I became more curious as to how it worked. I wanted to know what made the screen change when I clicked it and how pressing a button on the keyboard could control someone in a video game. And so I began to look into computer programming, I watched youtube videos on how to code and soon became so curious that I wanted to try it. This is why I decided to try and take computer science in high school and from there hopefully major in it. And sparking my interest in code wasn't the only thing that the internet gave me but I also started to watch TED talks and learn about things I didn't even know about. I used youtube to help me study for my AP Econ test and I discovered tons of cool sites that I didn't know about, such as kickstarter.com where people post prototypes of their ideas and hope that you are interested enough to help fund their project. This site is really cool because it shows how there are tons of people trying to achieve their dream and many of the projects end up being succesful. Even though my story may be a bit nerdy, I know the internet has helped me grow as a person.

It all started out with google...
